Orkay Puliyogare Mix, also called puliyogare, pulihora, puliyodharai, is a mix to make a popular south Indian tangy rice dish. Puliyogare traditionally is made by boiling tamarind and other ingredients together. The traditional process is elaborate and lengthy. Puliyogare has a longer life. This makes the product most travel friendly.

Cook 400g of rice in twice the volume of water. When cooled, transfer to a large vessel, add some oil and sprinkle 100g of ORKAY® Puliyogare Mix on it. Add desired quantity of groundnuts fried in oil and season with 4-5 red chillies, curry leaves and mustard. Mix well adding more oil if necessary. Add grated copra for taste.
Puliyogare seems to originate from Tamilnadu. Puliyogare has been served as “Prasad” in the temples.
