Rasam Masala
Orkay Rasam Masala, is a Masala to make a popular south Indian tangy Soup. Rasam is a very good appetizer. Some versions of the rasam are prepared with different ingredients. Rasam traditionally is made by cooking, toor dal, adding cooked tomato (if desired) salt, tamarind, sugar and Orkay Rasam masala together with water and boiling this mixture. The combination of all these ingredients gives the product unique flavour and taste. The traditional process of making Rasam masala is quite lengthy. It has a perfect blend of 12 ingredients which bring out the best flavours of rasam.

For 1 litre Rasam: Cook Tur Dal (150 gram) in water along with a pinch of turmeric and 1/2 teaspoon oil. Add Tamarind water(Extract), Tomato and Salt and boil for a few minutes. Then add 2 Tablespoons of ORKAY® MADRAS RASAM POWDER and again boil well for 10 minutes. Add grated coconut if needed for taste. Season with red chillies and curry leaves.

Rasam claims its origins in Madurai during the 16th century during the Saurashtran rule. It is claimed that Rasam prevents gas due to its extremely good digestive capabilities.
