Sambar Masala
Orkay Sambar Masala, is a Masala to make a popular south Indian tangy Broth. Sambar is a very good dish for main course. Sambar traditionally is made by cooking, toor dal, adding cooked tomato, cooked vegetables, salt, tamarind, sugar and Orkay Sambar masala together with water and boiling this mixture. The combination of all these ingredients gives the product unique flavour and taste. The traditional process of making Sambar masala is quite lengthy. It has a perfect blend of 10 ingredients which bring out the best flavours of Sambar.

For 1 litre Sambar: Cook Tur Dal (300 gram) in water along with a pinch of turmeric and 1/2 teaspoon oil. When half cooked, add 1/2 kg cooked vegetables, tamarind water (extract) and salt and cook for 10 minutes. Add 2 tablespoons of ORKAY® Madras Sambar Powder and boil for another 10 minutes. Add grated coconut for taste. Season with mustard, chillies and curry leaves.
